As a purchaser it is essential that you are aware of any defects the boat has, and which maintenance and repairs you can expect after you have purchased the boat. A technical check gives you the clear picture, and the knowledge you need for further negotiation.
Together with you, Guido Beekmann checks the complete boat. A verbal judgement is given directly after the inspection, and a HISWA test report listing all defects and items of special interest is delivered shortly after. Photographs are made to illustrate important items.
Experience shows that to gain a really good impression of the condition of a boat approximately one day is required for the check, the sea trial and the verbal judgement. For larger boats (above 16 m) often two or more days are necessary to check all equipment and installations. Of course, it is also possible to check only one area of a boat, for example the underwater hull or the engine.
Supervisor new constructions & refit
New constructions and refits demand expert and independent leadership. Getting things right at this stage of a boat's life will mean less problems later and a better sailing experience. The checking of drawings and specifications, the choice of engines, pumps and generators, as well as project progress, quality control and cost control, are all tasks that can be better entrusted to Guido Beekmann.
Valuation
Many circumstances in a boat's life call for a valuation. Whether it is for an individual, a company, a bank or for insurance purposes, Guido Beekmann delivers an accurate, objective and industry-recognized valuation.
Guido Beekmann is a member of the VRT - the Dutch valuers registry.
Expert investigation
Beekmann Expertise is frequently requested to report on defects that occur during construction or after which become evident after delivery (e.g. on series-production yachts). Beekmann Expertise is also appointed by lawyers for such an expert investigation.
Disputes
Mapping and analyzing problems and proposing solutions. On shore or on board during the sea trial or after the final delivery.
Providing expertise as an independent 'third party' in litigation and settlements. Beekmann Expertise has a good knowledge of the desired process and the requirements that a report must meet for legal purposes.
